All our Fire Alarm Systems are designed and installed to comply with The Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) Fire Alarms Policy and BS5839-1:2002, the code of practice for system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
Our fire alarm systems design and installations comprise one or more of the following elements :
- Automatic Fire Detection Equipment
- Manual call points
- Sounders and beacons
- Control and indicating equipment
- Monitoring equipment
- Addressable Systems
- Conventional Systems
BS5839-1:2002 gives recommendations for the category of system appropriate to different types of premises (M, L1-L5, P1 & P2). These recommendations are taken as the basis for the system design.
Fire alarm systems can be designed and installed either as an audible only system or as a monitored remote signaling system for a Fire Brigade response. Addressable Systems indicate the precise location of the activation via the fire panel. This is a significant aid which allows the occupant and fire crews to rapidly identify the source of the fire.
The Fire alarm system can be integrated with other systems such as access control to release doors on activation and provide a role call as well as door retainers and emergency gas shut off valves.
Automatic fire detection devices available include :
- smoke(optical, ionisation, optical beam and aspirating smoke detection)
- flame(infrared and ultra violet)
- heat(rate of rise and fixed heat)
- carbon monoxide
- multi sensor
- intelligent with adjustable sensitivity parameters
